bent valves?
well for some reason my motor spun to 8840 last night even with a 8600 fuel cutoff. im not sure if its just my head but it sounds like my motor got louder. ive never heard what valve ticking actually sounds like but im thinking i might have bent some for overreving.
now my question is, if i do have bent valves, will i still idle normally at 800/810?

If you find that your idle is lumpy, assuming it wasn't b4. Then chances are your valves are bent. Do a leak down test to see if compression holds. Also, if air is coming out of your exhaust during the test then for sure your ex valves are bent. When I bent mine,
my motor was idiling rough and shaking. Make sure that you change all of your ex valves and ispect your head throughly. Good luck!

Its all in your head. Your tach is off, you can take it up to 9100rpm(indicated) before the revlimter at 8600rpm.

you'r probably fine I bent valves before, I had to keep the AC on in the winter to keep the revs up at idle to stop her from stalling. The leak down test will reveal it. You are likely fine though.
