sup guys well my friend was driving along today and was runing this other coupe! well they took off from a third and as soon as my friend put my car in fourth it poured out smoke out of the exhaust and the car shut off. my friend said he didnt hear any loud or strange noise when it happened. it just shut off and it still wont turnover or anything. so im not sure what it is! it could be alot of things. what do yall think happened! btw i have a 2000 si coupe!

yea im sure! my friends said that maybe i dropped a valve! or something! even if he did miss it shouldnt smoke that bad! i couldnt even see and i was right behind him

dont 00si lock you out when youre too high to go into a gear? So if your rpms will redline in 2nd you cant get into it? I know that in my 00 I cant get it into 1st or 2nd even when Im breaking if the rpms are too high.

 

^^^ thats what i thought too! but im gonna take the valve cover off today to see if theres any damage but if the motor is blown doesnt a jdm b16 fit plug and play in my car?

 

You have now learned the hard way not to let your friends beat the **** out of you car. You can try turning the engine over with a socket and breaker bar on the crank pulley. If it doesn't turn pull the head and look at all the great damage that has been done

 

sounds like hes lying to you to cover up the fact he missed 4th and went to 2nd and popped your motor..

pull out the spark plugs and get one of those cameras that can go inside the hole you can rent them here from home depot for cheap and see whats up in there..

I believe that would just have something to do with the mechanics of the synchronizers and the fact that the b16 spins really high, but i may be wrong. In any case it didn't stop my cousin from planting a full throttle shift from 4th to 2nd in my d16 y8 and it hit 9k

 

I had once lost a motor due to a friend that i thought he knew what he was doing. I'll be a man about it, I fucken cryed my *** of because i spent time an money on it. I guess he didnt give a damn because it wasnt his car.
