i have noticed lately a loud whistle its very high pitched and i dont know what it could be a vacum or something anyone have any idea or heard of this?

 

High pitch whistle is probably a vacuum leak, a growl sound is usually a restricted IAC. You will need a mechanics stethoscope from Sears. Pull off the plastic and metal tip and use the hose to listen around, you will know when you hit it for sure.

 

hey thanks duane im getting the stheascope today but im not sure exactly which part on the intake mani to hook it up to?

 

You dont hook it up, you move the plastic hose around with your hand and listen for the leak, you wont miss it, if you think that it is actually coming from inside the manifold or a hose sounds louder then you have a bad idle air controller inside the intake manifold system but if it whistles, then it should be an external leak.
