Touge setup suggestions??
Theres some windy backroads 30 min away and Id sure like to do some spirited driving there.
Id like to take some suggestion setups...nothing too $$$
Id like to take some suggestion setups...nothing too $$$
but if you still insist.
i recomend:
sticky tires and upgraded brake system
and not just by going with slotted/ drilled & bigger brake rotor kits.
i mean like stuff like a semi-agressive pad and plain surface brembo rotors with the dust plate cut and ducts to route cool air to it.
if that still aint cuttin for brake, upgrade to itr brakes.
your rear drums will be fine for now. dont even think about getting a rear disk swap for 200 bucks and call it a day. Thats not enough, you need to change your brake booster, prop valve and master cylinder to match either your front stock brakes or if you do itr you match it to an itr setup, or else it wont fucntion to its "FULL POTENTIAL" ( i know many people will say you dont need to but why would you do half a job).
as for actual suspension stuff.......... your going to be on your own. im not giving you my secret setup. hahahaha!!!
ah and last thing, dont be a dumb *** on a public road please. if you want to race please do it on a track.

oh also i saw some picture of your car. clean out your car. nothing more distracting that a 5 gallon jug of water flying around.
oh and also keep record of your cold tire pressure to see what works best for you.
reminder dont drive fast on public roads and obey all traffic signs.

just want to add another reminder. the only thing between you and the road is four SMALL *** patches of rubber.
fast does not = cool jdm parts or many expensive suspension parts
good driving = using and manipulating the 4 patches wisely. add suspension parts as deemed needed.
dont kill yourself or other by driving fast on public roads keep the speed off the streets, kill your local drug dealer.
peace.

ah one last thing. i know you never said that you wanted to be fast or want to race. so just want to say sorry if you got offeneded.
p.s. keep your motor is healthy condition cause you might find yourself in constant high rpms.

ground control cover overs.

(Generic eBay coil over do work as well but, guaranteed over time the spring will sag and get weak. this is speaking from personal experience)
*(just to let you know, i ran a 6k front spring and 8k rear spring. that is plenty stiff for street setup. anything higher is going to be a pretty rough ride. but the choice is yours. now you ask why i have a stiffer spring in back well that helps with rear end rotation. lots more techical than that but if you want to learn search the suspension forum or autox forum. if you make a thread and ask i'll kick your ***. j.k. no really but you'll be flamed on)
**( and please dont slam your car to the ground, it looks great but there is a certain point that if you go lower you'll hurt performance. yea yea if you find a picture of my car you'll see its slammed, i just couldn't help it = (.......)
tokico illuminas .
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1431529
(many people like koni yellows, but can get kinda expensive. tokico whites are the next best)
** at this point you should get an alignment. for the front you can buy a camber kit or you can do the old racer trick and get your steering knuckles bent. for the rear do the washer trick. set your front and rear toe to spec and rear camber to spec, but for the front camber leave it at something a little bit more stock.
rear sway bar and rear lower control arms.
-you'll need the lower control arms if you want a rear sway bar. the reason is because your stock ones do no have the hole to mount the endlinks. the choice is yours for what brand you want
-as for a rear sway bar option, your going to want to get something your comfortable with and can afford.
--- i suggest a 14mm civic si rear sway bar, because your sub frame will still be strong enough to handle it with out tearing
--- if you decide to go with a 22mm sway bar from an integra type-r you'll need a sub frame reinforcement brace. i like the asr piece, i ran it with a 23mm rear sway with no problems. here is a quick link https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1745422 but that is just to show you what they are. if you are going to buy one i suggest to buy straight from Charleston which started the company.
**** rear sway bar change your car's behavior quite dramaticly. so careful with driving after you slap that baby on. you'll have to almost relearn the entire thing.
next i would suggest
-a civic type-r front shock tower bar
-a any kind of rear shock tower bar
-a short shifter upgraded with those red bushings ( i forgot what they're called )
-a set of rims, something wider than stock ( imma guess stock gsr blades are about 6.5 inches wide, with wider rims your planting your tires a tad bit farther out)
-a set of fender braces ( no one truly appreciated them, but i however see a definite importance in delivering feed back to the driver)
-removal of power steering ( the method of removal is up to you, you can simply cut the belt or buy the actual kit. i cut the belt and ran the entire life of the car with no problems)
-remove any weight you can.
i don't recommend getting a H brace or X brace, the ones that go under your car simply because if it gets caught on anything while your driving.....well I'll let your imagination take care of that. i dont think you'll really need some of those jungle gym setups aswell. they sure do look nice but really.......is it needed?
ehhh let's see I'll get back to you if i forgot anything. just to keep in mind all the stuff i just said is what i know to the best of my knowledge. if anyone feels like they want to add information by all means do so. cause i don't claim to know it all.

a good set of tires... and practice... then start upgrading!!! you'll learn a lot and probably decide that you want a faster car... you'll save a lot of money in the mean time just my two cents

shocks are for pussies- you can save money there.
really big rear sway bar. asr32mm will work.
sticky tires up front, donuts out back.
works best in the rain. pm me for info on where to will over that money i saved you on the shocks, provided you only kill yourself, and don't have to pay medical settlements on a minivan full of kids.

Learn on your stock setup first. Play with tire pressure and alignment before you go out and buy a 50 billion dollar jungle gym that will supposedly do something based on the premises that it's JDM and the people at HT say that it'll do something magical.
You really need to settle down and *NOT* drive "spirited" on any public road.
It's dangerous and uncontrolled.
If you are driving on the street, and only on the street, the best suspension hands down is stock. It's designed very well. It will take years of really learning how to drive your car (on a track with instruction) for you to progess beyond the limits of the stock suspension of your car.
The best advice for you is to spend your time and money learning how to drive your car. The upgrades come when your abilities have surpassed that of your car.
If all you have done is driven on the street in a "spirited" manner you are not there yet.
Keep your suspension stock, keep your speeds down on the public roads and drive safely.
Just because you have a "race suspension" or "race brakes" or "race whatever", doesn't mean that your car will be safer at high speeds on a public road.
You can spend $1,000 on you car or you can spend $1000 on a good quality instruction. I will be willing to bet that the driving instruction will make you a faster driver than the $1,000 spent on your car.
Also you will have a much better experience on a track than you ever will on a public road.

how about next time just asking "how do i make my car handle better under XXX amount of dollars" and list what youve done to your car already. you gave nothing for anyone to answer other than youre reckless and youre cheap. you didnt even say what car you have.
a stupid question gets stupid answers. welcome to the internet.

gotta pay to play. know what you can spend before even asking a question.
i remember when i was younger i'd just buy one set of extra rims and put good tires on'em...and take that to the windy road.
