Default JDM FD install woes

I installed my 4.7 FD and 1-5 gears are awesome BUT reverse is giving me issues.
The shifter doesn't click into reverse like it should. The car will reverse if I hold the shifter back but the second I let go it crunches out.

Is there any adjustments to be made? I swear if I could pull back reverse a few more cm, it would be ok. My idea is to remove all the linkage and start over to see if that helps. Anyone have any other ideas besides drop the trans?

you might have put the reverse pin in upside down or not tightened the 2 10mm bolts that hold the reverse gear

too many possibilities....who installed it

I got it cracked again and every looks OK. When I pull up slightly on the syncro shaft, it will engage reverse but without doing this, I can't shift it into reverse.

The gear is the correct way as well. All the bolts are tighten down to spec.

When I drove it before, It would drive in reverse if I kept pressure on the shifter. The second pressure wasn't applied, it popped out.

My friend was thinking install the case back on set in reverse to see if that would help.

??? any other ideas?

no pictures....

yes you will have to hold the shift fork to link everything up to get it to go into reverse with the tranny case off

I opened it up, didn't see anything wrong. Retighten the bolts to spec and put the case back on and it's all good in my hood now for whatever reason.

Thanks for the advice.
