will the d16y8 exhaust fit a d16y7 exhaust?

If it's a coupe, then yes. The Y7 has a J-pipe coming down from the catalytic to meet up with the exhaust, where-as the Y8 has a normal "header" and a catalytic on the end of that. Either way, the end up at the same place.

 

what kind of aftermarket exhaust you have? 3'? you selling it

 

both hatchbacks, one is a y8 and the other y7

The D16Y7 cars have a manifold with a cat built in. Then you have a downpipe that goes under the engine and meets up with a B-pipe. This begining of the B-Pipe is a two bolt flange.

The D16Y8 cars have a regular manifold and downpipe that clear the engine. Then bolt to a cat. The end of the cat has a three bolt flange where it bolts to the B-pipe along with being shorter then that found on a Y7 equipped car.

 

so yes or no?

****** hell, I forgot about the 3-bolt. I'm off my **** today. It's been too long since I've been under a coupe and a hatch, I'm beginning to blend the two together ...

i wasn't swapping back to stock, i had stock and just put on an apex ws from a y8 motor.

Siting your proof with an aftermarket exhaust doesn't hold much weight. What he said about the stock exhaust is true.

Do you have an aftermarket header and cat on your car? Are you talking about just the axle back portion or the B-Pipe as well? The Mufflers are interchangeable. Otherwise you must be talking about something else.

The picture posted by Eran shows the truth. Top B-Pipe is a Y7 and bottom B-Pipe is a Y8.
