hey dc5 buddies, i did some massive reaserch on the net here last night on CF hoods, many different places and many differnt prices, i was just curious how much did everybody pay for an OEM carbon fiber hood and who is the best brand toget and the best place to buy?

call around at different body shops, they can get them for alot cheaper than if you buy them from a distributor.

 

yeah i thought about that i just was trying to see the best price some people got i will probably end up ordering it from my local shop Sound Innovations ( my second home) lol

 

i think the best mass distributor for c/f hoods would be seibon and vis, in terms of quality and fitment. I know some people that have gotten custom made ones and they fit like garbage.

 

jsut so you know that ViS and Seibon are made in the same place so same quality

 

If you get someone who bought a hood 3 years ago, compared to last week the price is going to have a huge difference. So you might want to ask anyone who JUST bought their hood. It seems like the price goes up every week.

I think that is more of a rumor than truth.

I'd go with Seibon or VIS...I have a Seibon cf hood and I have no complaints!

From what i hear Vis is the best brand. I bought mine used for 250. Just make sure you take care of em or they fade.

 

I personally think you should go with the buddy club hood..looks sweet and its got a slot right over the exhaust side of the engine for heat to escape..win.win. its a little bit pricey though...

im trying to go with an OEM hood or esle i would look into it thanks tho

its true, they buy from several manufactures but most are made in the same place

Maybe, but maybe not. For example, there's a company that makes interior parts for Ford, GM, Toyota, and Honda -- dash & door panels, interior plastics, etc. Honda's standards are high enough that they end up rejecting more parts than any of the others, and the result is that more of the parts that arrive at the assembly line have fewer blemishes and fitment problems.

It's possible that Vis and Seibon are manufactured side-by-side, but it's also possible that they have different quality standards. I'd like to find out for sure, though.
