1990 Accord w/ H22 Auto Swap No Vtec????? HELP!!!
Ok i have a 1990 Acoord with a auto (i know it sucks ***) H22 swap. I noticed that its like not hitting vtec at all.... i checked the oil and its fine... but i did notice that on the vtec solnoid there are 2 plugs, 1 on top and one on the bottem. The top one isnt plugged into anything, and there are no plugs laying around anywhere under the hood for it to go into. Like it sounds like a cross over to vtec around say 5400rpm's but theres like no extra pull during that at all. All you do is hear it. I know that the auto h22 swaps come with less aggressive cams and a less aggressive ecu than the manual swaps but damn theres definitly something wrong here. Please someone help me out....
I've known a lot of people who have owned Preludes over the years. In the ones with autos, I never felt the crossover into VTEC. Then again, I barely notice it (other than by sound) in the cars with manual transmissions. The only engines where I actually felt a difference were B16's and B18's.
But I guess let me ask the obvious question first... Any CEL's?

the sound you are hearing could just be the secondaries on the intake opening. it sounds like vtec since it opens right before vtec. if you have two plugs and only one hooked up, i would start there.
one is for the oil pressure and the other is for the solenoid to turn it on. if you don't have both it won't vtec. is the one missing a two wire or one wire lead?

the plug with 1 wire on the top is the vtec selinoid plug, if you have that unpluged,, you will,,,well,,, have no vtec. the 2 pun plug is the oil pressure switch,, how do you have that plug to plug in if you dont have the 1 wire,,,,sounds like you have one of the temp gauge connectors pluged into the vtec oil pressure switch(bet that throws a cool code)
1st what ecu, harness, and or vtec controller do you have.
2nd if you have a vtec ecu you need to run three wires threw your fire wall
3rd the one wire selinoid plug (you can use a honda oddessy fog light plug) goes into pin 4 on connector A (26 pin ASSUMING ITS OBD 1)
4th the 2 pin wires into pin 6 and 22 of connector d (22 pin STILL ASSUMING ITS Obd1) and you can use another temp plug (off another car)
still need help http://technet.ff-squad.com/wiring.obd1.htm
