H22 crx redline sucks.
My h22 crx doesn't go to redline its supposed to. I have a p13 ecu which i think is 7400rpm redline but it only goes to 6400-6500. Does anybody know what would cause the redline to act like this?

92-96 h22's didn't come auto so there's no way its gonna be a auto ecu.
But the vtec feels like its working.

make sure it's a manual tran. ecu, second did u hook up the vtec correctly, had the same problem b16 crx, couldnt go pass 7grand, now that vtec is hooked up it's perfect. check your vtec wiring...timing as well..

You might want to test your vtec to make sure it is working,It's hard to tell on A h22 because it's not as agressive as say A b-series.
I would probably say its A vtec issue.

Re: H22 crx redline sucks. (Slavko)
are you going by an aftermarket tach?
if no then your cluster could be off 1000 rpm (mine is off 600-700rpm)
or it could be a vtec problem???

I am using the stock crx cluster. I'll try a aftermarket tach.

VTEC isn't engaging.. That is your problem... Read this thread... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=830163
EDIT: I just read your other thread... Fix you speedo and then VTEC will engage and you will be able to rev all the way to 72-7400...

That vtec is less aggressive on an H than a B. I disagree.

A H22 has A smoother transition and A B-series is more of A sudden change over If you don't believe me drive A car with A b16 then drive A vtec prelude if you can't feel that differences your crazy. Read up on it,it been talk about before on here.
A H22 is A torquer motor were A b16 is A higher reving motor.

that's not because of the motor, thats because of the weight of the prelude. It makes it feel smoother. I have an H in an eg and the crossover is a lot more sudden and violent than a b16 civic.

The prelude is also sporting about 35-40 more flywheel HP and A lot more TQ so how would weight play A roll in the crossover. Compare it to A better platform then if you still don't get it, like A b18c5.

driven one of those too, still not agreeing. I also dont see the b18c5 as a better overall platform either. I would say its better for road course driving (since it was designed to take a beating), but not better in all situations. the crossover does feel smooth in a prelude, but not when you put the motor in something lighter.

All I can tell you is to search there are plenty of topics that back up what I say and your not going to tell me that the crossovers are the same when I've had A H22 in A crx and A Type R in A crx and its two different worlds.

Re: H22 crx redline sucks. (dragline)
OK lets get back on topic here.
I took a couple pics today so here we go.
I have the 12 volt which is teh black and yellow wire hooked up.
I have the ground which is the black wire hooked up.
But I do not have the blue/white wire hooked up which i think is the cruise control because crx didn't come with it. Do i need to have the blue/white wire hooked up to something for my speedometer to work? And if so where does it go?
ok so is this the butterfly solenoid? And in order for my butterfly's to stay open all the time i just leave this unplugged?
What is this? I have vacuum lines going to it but i do not have it plugged into anything.

The blue wire needs to go to B10 location on your p13 ecu.

That is your air temp sensor,The solenoid is under the intake manifold if your not familiar with its location then you didn't wire it, so then don't worry about that there already open then

That is your EGR valve solenoid.

you are running A OBD1 to OBD0 harness adapter right then there should be A wire that comes out of the adapter that you hold to ground to retrieve codes

Re: H22 crx redline sucks. (dragline)
I tried hooking up the blue/white wire to the b10 location on the ecu but then it wouldn't start at all. I know that the crx speedometer is cable driven but can i use the stock crx speedometer with the h22?
