Default Upgrading from EM1 to S2000!!!!ANYTHING I NEED TO KNOW?????

So im upgrading From my 99Si to an s2000. is there anything you guys want to tell me? things i should look out for?

Were there any problems with 2000 models?
does it have an LSD or open diff?
Are thier any sub models ( for example like the Civic ex, dx, Si ) or is it just S2000?
I know i should know the answers but i'm new to the S2000. But i really like them and have heard only good things.

dont drive it like your Si.

it has an LSD.

no sub models.

2000-2003 is AP1, 2004+ AP2.

If you do a search for the word "differences" under the s2000 forum's archived content you will find about a bijillion posts about this.

the s2000 is a whole new world to a civic, be careful "learning" the car.

Ap1 = 2.0 motor with the 9k redline
Ap2 = 2.2 motor with the 8k redline but a slight bump in torque

If you are going to get an Ap1... get a 02-03 because it has a glass softtop instead of the plastic that fogs cracks and hazes over.

Best advice Learn to drive the car, then learn to drive the car hard. s2000's will spin out, EM1 wont.

I'm on my second one. First one hydroplaned on the freeway only doing 65 into the center devider and totalled the whole rear end. This one, a friggen racoon went through the grill and took out the radiator and AC condensor, and my girlfriend back into the side panel with her truck! What next?!

Be careful with your S2K in the rain. I Wasn't even doing anything but driving straight on the 215 going 65mph in the LIGHT sprikeling rain and the thing spun me right into the devider backwards

I wish! Have the 06 now with TCS, but it don't help any..
I agree. "learn" the s2K. It can get nasty quick if you can't handle it. take it to a big ol open lot and learn how to drive RWD LSD. Nothing like my old CRX's..

Learning what it will do in the rain is even better.

On a dry day it will hug a canyon road like flies on dogsh*t and the vtec is better than nitrous in a ZC first gen CRX any day. Has loads of power, and you'll burn 90% of the people you come accross with it. 6 speed is even funner than 5 too
Thought about the new civic SI, and still went with the s2k. now it's all battered up again already.
Only thing you should mod on it is intake and exhaust. You'll love it!
