hi ..my friend is swapping out my valves because i have a bent one. well theres a problem. for more info its a d16y8 vtec head with crower valve springs and retainers.the problenm is that i cant get the valve out due to the retainers not releasing.the retaineeer doesnt come off or sink..any ideas or help is highly appriciated thanks

 

I usually take a 17mm socket, place it on top of the spring, and smack it with a hammer. Apart it comes.

 

so its been stuck for u too..ok ill give it a shot any other suggestions..thanks for your post

 

yea that works just becareful cause sometimes if you hit it hard enough parts will go flying.
