Will a code 08 prevent VTEC from engaging? My immediate thoughts are that it shouldn't but I could be wrong.
SETUP:
VEH: 91 Si
POWERPLANT: USDM B16 / OBD0 /
ECU: PR3
-- I was initially throwing 23 and 8, I replaced the KS and cleared the ECU. I figured that clearing code 23 would still allow VTEC to engage. I am doing the OBD1 conversion anyway, but this is just for my knowledge. Please advise.

i had a code 8 problem for almost a year and replaced the dist. several times cuase the company kept sellin me shitty distributors but the entire time i had the problem i did not get vtec. once i got the good dist. in the vtec worked so i dont think your gonna get vtec with that trouble code.
P.S. if your goin obd 1 then keep your old dizzy and stay with the trouble code and once you change obd status then you can use that oppertunity to get a new one that will work properly
