Default bad tie rod ends??

I have a 94 del Sol, when i come around a corner hard enough to preload the suspension, and i hit a bump, it makes a loud clunk noise. Also if i hit front most part of the front tire with my foot i can hear a klunk noise: do i need new tie rod ends?

Jack up the car.

Hold the wheel at 9 and 3 and see if it will move left and right. Do the same with your hands at 12 and 6. If the wheel moves, wobbles, etc. have somebody pinpoint where the movement is coming from while you shake the wheel.

Usually. Check the strut to make sure it's not wet, and make sure the wheels are tight.

good info!
I have something to add.
I have not yet checked my rods, but just bought the car, found out that its carfax says it was not wrecked. but
while i am driving at speeds of 50-70mph.. there is a "wander in the vehicle..
I have a manual rack in my Civic. and i hold the wheel tight in position. and the car veers right a tad then corrects itself then pulls left a tad.. gradually.. it sounds like tie rods/ worn suspension or tires, bushings etc. to me..
has anyone else encountered this exact problem?
