Default b18 gsr motor

I just got a simple question ..my boy has a ek hatch with a gsr swap Im not sure what year...hes got a header, full exhaust, victor x intake mani. and a cheap short ram intake. Im just thinkin he might be runnin a lil lean ....what ecu would be best to use? he has a p28 hes runnin now...a p72 in the garage if not on of these what ecu than? he also plans on puttin a b16 head on it. sorry its so long....

p72. p28 is from a 92-95 ex.

so would he be able to pull the p28 and just plug in the p72???
