Big EK SOCH issue
my buddy pulls up and tells me his car is running really bad, first off it smells really bad like gas, CEL light is blinking, running real sluggish there is def. misfire, i dont even think its running on all 4 cylinders. Im thinking it could be valvetrain issues, it is a d16 with like 225k... I dont think that it could be a clogged fuel line or injector, I have been searching the forums and it all sounds the same like valve issues.
this happened to a buddy of mine with his car, one of two things. one or 2 of your spark plugs arnt giving spark, or you blew a connecting rod, to check this do one of two things remove all of your spark plug and take a long screwdriver and push down on each cylender if one goes down you blew a connecting rod, another way to check this is to simply take off your oil pan.

First off if it was a thrown rod, you would def know it as the motor would run so bad it would look like its trying to jump out of the enjine bay, and would most likely be knocking loud too.
LIke above stated find out what the CEL is go from there. The nest thing i would do it look at the spark plugs and determine which cylinder is causing the problem.
