What Happened?
Ok here's what's up. I took my turbo'd Ls for a long run and opened it up at 120mph (me being a dumbass). At 120mph the car felt like it hit the governor (spelling) so I let off. Next thing I know my car is running like ****. I drove it home, checked the oil and added a little since it was reading low. I started the car back up and it was still shitty. I popped the hood and the motor was shacking. Is this a Rod or just a Rod Bearing? I know its one of the two (from my knowledge).

take the spark plugs out and look into the holes with a flash light or something...then check the oil....listen for knocking...you sure did mess something up tho..

Nobody is going to be able to know for sure what it is without looking at it or knowing more info. It could be something as simple as a fouled plug or serious like cracked ring lands, sleeve, blown head gasket, ect. Post your complete setup and then go pull your plugs and look at them.

To be honest.....I'm affraid of doing more damage just by starting the car. It wouldn't last through a compression test. Its gotta be something rod related.

I bet a piston would melt before a spark plug. . .
You don't need to start the car to do a compression test BTW. . .

Re: What Happened? (nsxmatt)
i thought i spun a rod bearing at one time. then i really listened to it closely and it was in the head. Stupid valve tapet screw fell off. . The rocker was just flapping around.
Do some investigation man. Check to see where the sound is coming from , it its coming from the bottm end then its prob rod knock.

Re: What Happened? (itr206)
Well I finally got everything apart today.....turns out I'm it for a little fun. I have a bad wrist pin (I think that's right) and ontop of that I have a few loose valves. So after $80 worth of parts (new #4 piston ring and wrist pin) and some cleaning everthing should be good. I checked the rod bearings and they were fine, not even a scratch.
