unused car not running great
hi guys, I have just been away travelling for a year and my car has been sitting unused for most of this time (EDM d15b2). Now im back ive changed what needed to be changed ie battery, plugs, filters oil etc to get her on the road. Shes running but not great. The idle when both cold and warmed up is a little lumpy and when im driving it it seems to hesitate and be groggy. I was just looking to see if you guys can suggest what i need to look at, clean, renew etc to get her running ok agaiin. Thanks loads o knowledged ones
It hardly had any gas left in the tank and so ive filled it up with new gas and same problem. sorry what is dry gas? it comes in bottles. I hope i can get it here in the uk. what does it do? The other thing ive noticed is the temperature gauge only goes up to about a third, im sure it was at half way before. thanks guys
Dry gas is an additive you add to the gas tank that will bind with any water that might be in the gas tank keeping it from causing any problems. You should be able to find it anywhere it might be called something diff. in the uk just ask a auto parts store. Something else you might want to check if you have a stock air intake on the car. Little critters can get in them and build nest blocking the incoming air esp on cars that aren't moved for long periods of time.
I have an induction kit but ill have a look at that and make sure it is clean and still flowing well. I though it was a myth about animals building nests in cars but the reason I had to change the exhaust in my car was because a pesky mouse had built a nest in the muffler!!!!
i work in express at a toyota dealership
we have at least 1 car every day that has a nest from a mouse, and holes in the filters from them as well.
they even get into cabin air filters

My car sat for about 1 1/2 years before I bought it. I am having the exact problem you are having and still have not found it. So best of luck if you do figure it out please tell me!
