Default Car stuck in first...

So im at a redlight, go to leave after it turned green an when i went to shift second, my tranny wouldnt come outta first.. I pulled over an tried everything an no matter what, it would not leave first.. Than i got it outta first, but now it only goes it first... I just picked up the tranny like 2 months ago, its a 95 si tranny out of the si hatch.. Just put pretty sick clutch kit an flywheel in an since than its been running perfect... Now all of a sudden out of no where, it does this... My friend said it could be shift fork bent maybe... So i took tranny off an everything an we're gonna check it out, just lookin for some opinions...

does the clutch still engage/disengage properly? i'm thinking that it may be the shift fork as well, sometimes but rarely they can get bent with the use of higher pressure plates, but usally the m/c goes out first.

what i mean to say earlier was the clutch fork not the shifter forks. if the shifter forks are bent then that could explain why you'd only be able to select 1st gear. only way to tell is a teardown of the transmission, but i'd do this as a last ditch effort if you could not diagnose it externally. have you check the shift linkage to see if that is possibly bent?
