i just swaped a d16z6 into my dx coupe, and my car is not wired for vtec. so would it be easier to have a shop do it or just do it myself....

 

easier for a shop to do it? yes.
more cost effective? no.
will you learn more? no.
moral of the story: diy.


now this would have been a better thread if you had asked "what do i need to do to wire up v-tec?" or "any how-to's for" or something of the sort.

you wernt asking HOW-TO wire it, you were asking if you should take it to a shop.

when i didn't know how i just took it to a shop. cost me 20 bucks.. big fuking woop! i know how to do it now, but do i care? no.. i would still probly take it to a shop.\
