Default Taking the head apart on a b16a2?

need to know how difficult it is to take apart a head. I looked in the helms and it seems there are a lot of special tools to use. Anyone with head experience pls help.

Taking it apart is really not too difficult. Just try to keep everything very organized an labeled. Some people use Styrefoam(sp?) to put everything into so it does not get misplaced. I guess i have to reread my 96 del sol manual, because I dont remeber the "special tools" needed to take apart the head. 12, and 14mm is alot of it.

hth,

Monty

even for the valve springs? I thought you had to compress them or something to get them out and compress them to get them back in... Im not just taking the head out im taking apart the whole valvetrain

yea, i have only seen snap-on make a valve spring compressor for the b-series head, its kinda expensive too. you can make your own with a cresent wrench and bend it at the neck, but i would stay with the right tools. havent seen another company that makes one yet. let me know if you find one.
