Default secondary o2 plug

tryin to replace the secondary o2 on my EM1, i see that the plug runs from the cat up into the floor, i took out the console / cupholders etc.
but i still cant find the plug, am i gonna have to cut the carpet under there to get to the plug ?
the carpet wont stretch enough to let me get under there, just wondering. im sure people have had to deal with this before. help a brotha out.
ive retired for the day due to lack of daylight /garage, and its like freezing out. so this is just so im not screwin around forever tommorow.
thanks.
