rear trailing arm GURUs needed....please help my woes
alright so im installing rear trailing arms and on the removal, one side's compensator arm didnt want to come out, it would just spin freely....so i removed the front most compensator arm from the trailing arm assembly and it was left stuck on the chassis while the rest came off....i cut out the bolt and now...i can't find the nut that stays in the frame that the bolt was bolted into. the one that adjusts toe. where the hell can that thing go? it seems like its puched all the way back or even laying down flat....how the hell am i supposed to get 'er back in place?
car is a 1992 VX

A guy had the same problem a few months ago, he posted it in this forum. Gosh I wish I knew the title of the thread or his screen name. I'll see if I can look it up, he posted how he did it.

I've read that if that nut thats inside the frame gets lost (the one from the compensator arm aka the toe arm) then your almost SOL w/o cutting an access hole to fish the nut back up to align it or use a new one. The compensator arm nut kind of 'rides' in a channel so when you loosen the nut to adjust to it slides to allow adjustment. I just hope I dont run into the same problem when I put my SPC adjustable toe-compensator arms in.

You're going to have to cut a hole to retrieve the nut.

Yet another one. Nobody ever listens to me.
How many times do I have to tell people not to remove or mess with any arms for a simple rear brake swap
All you have to do is unbolt the drum hub assembly from the TA and bolt on the new disc hub and caliper. Ugh.
Sorry, I'm not picking on you in particular, but I get frustrated when I see this happen over and over.

I find it easier to replace the whole arm.

Until you end up with a bent arm, and the car won't align afterwards. Or you break/strip LCA or compensator arm bolts. Or you lose the toe adjuster nut inside the chassis. Or you have to swap TA bushings because the salvaged ones are shot. Or . . .
I prefer to just crank off the Torx bolts with an impact driver, swap the hubs, and be done with it.

Never happened to me. Plus I have lifetime alignments at good ol' Discount Tire Center.

At least be sure to use an impact torx socket. My socket just shattered when I tried. Soaked it in PB Blaster for a couple of nights before I tried again. Didn't break the new torx bit but couldn't budge those bolts. I ended up swapping out the entire TA instead.
