I have an excedy clutch plate, flywheel and clutch cover. Few minutes ago, it started acting up. There was this repeating squeeking sound(sounds like mice) coming from the tranny when I depress the clutch. The noise goes away when I release the pedal. Sometimes the sound occurs when I am at the clutch biting point.

Is my clutch worn out or is my flywheel warped? I get chattering noise when I depress the clutch. But the chattering has been around for sometime. I am not getting any clutch slippage at 9000rpm.

 

Sounds just like mine with 118K on the original clutch/flywheel. Probably due for replacement.

 

could try to lube the shift fork/slave cylinder contact point.

Well if you are not getting any slippage and you have noise the problem is the throw out bearing.....its probably worn out. You can just replace that but if the clutch is older it may be a good idea just to replace the whole clutch kit....

 

Chattering is caused by warped flywheel or pressure plate "fingers" not aligned
properly. Squeeking like you say could be the slave cylinder pivot ball on the shift lever or inside the bellhousing where the lever pivots.
I've heard squeeking in the shop on a couple of cars; most likely from the springs
in the clutch disk when depressing the clutch and just starting to move the car.

That's what I thought too. Wierd thing is the noise occurs when I depress the clutch and sometimes when the clutch starts to bite. I guess if its the bearing, I will replace it only when my clutch is due. A little sound can't kill. Just wanted to know if its something else broken.

 

So what is your advise if its the fault of the clutch disc springs?

Then you'll need to replace the clutch disc.

 

I would replace everything.

 

Would I have to replace my flywheel? I was thinking cover, plate and bearing.
