re-grease window tracks???? what to do??? use???

Default re-grease window tracks???? what to do??? use???

what do you do to re-grease your window tracks?
clean off the old grease on the tracks? easiest way to do so?
what kind of grease do you reccomend for re-greasing?

I did this recently on my Wagovan.... I used white lithium grease on all the metal/mechanical parts. I also used some silicone spray lube on the rubber channels that the glass slides in... which probably made the biggest improvement.

yep. white lithium grease is what i used. actually, my windows have been rolling up really slow lately, i think its time to reapply

dupont makes a good white lithium spray, you can get it at lowes, home depot, and usually any auto parts store.

alright! no cleaning the tracks????
im sure that 12 year old grease is probably crusty under the door panel. well, my sunroof rails were atleast.

I got the white lithium grease that comes in a big tub and I smeared it on. There are some parts that are really hard to reach, so I wouldn't suggest the can style. The rubber channels are easy to reach with the can of silicone spray lube, but the metal parts in the guts of the door are hard to reach...

I use white lithium grease for the metal moving parts and then I sprayed some silicone spray on the rubber seal at the top and powdered graphite for the cloth-like tracks that run on each side of the window.
