Default camber, etc

I just lowered my car on omni full coilovers, maybe 1.5-2 inches? (I had help with the install, I don't even know how much exactly they dropped it...):

I've done the searches and the concensus seems to be that you dont need a camber kit, just an alignment, but everyone is telling me I at least need a shim kit or something....

when would you need a camber kit then?

I added a camber kit, because lowering did not give me enough negative camber. Thats about the only reason I can think of to run one on the front of a Civic or Integra.

Now, the 96-00 Civic has a really agressive rear camber curve, and excessive lowering will produce serious camber. For appearances (which is the only reason to lower that far anyway) you might want to reduce some of the rear negative camber, in which case a shim kit or replacement adjustable rear UCA might be called for.

A 2" drop is nothing worth worrying about. Go get the toe aligned and call it a day.

It depends. If you are really concerned, post a current alignment printout for your car, and I can give you advice on what to do. I have years of experience operating a Hunter alignment rack, and have owned and aligned countless lowered cars.

It's always a good idea to have a camber kit. Relying on the drop for a camber that is the same on both sides is the cheap way to do it. Sounds like you're going to have somewhere around 2*+ of negative camber. If you don't do HPDE's or autocrossing you really don't need that much. And it will take a toll on your tires after a while.

just to put this guys advice in perspective:

youve got the whole RR/AX forum telling you youre chasing your own tail with your own suspension.

What an *******.

And NONE of those guys or you have ever driven the car set up like that to give me advice. That's why it's advice. And that's why the forum is there for ideas.
Now go tell me your car is set up perfectly and can't be improved. And if you couldn't read I never even asked for advice on the set up just the rear bar.

Telling someone they should get a camber kit is bad advice I take it. Blow me!
