i have a 93 del sol 1.5. my mechanic is putting in a b16 but he said the wiring isnt matching up for instance the map sensor the altenator and such does anyone here know exactly what needs to be done or can anyone here point me in the right direction please help i need my car back thanx

 

what doesn't match up? If your using your stock harness you will have to extend some wires to make em reach the correct sensors. Or is the b16 an obd2 motor and he is tryin to use that harness?

 

the map sensor for the 1.5 is on the motor it isnt on the b16. its a jdm b16a

 

You should be able to use your map sensor and just hook a vacuum line up to it. Not sure about the b16's but my jdm b18 had one on the throttle body.

 

figured it out the wiring from the factory 1.5 i ran in the harness the b16 has a seperate harness for the map sensor i just had to cut it out of the 1.5 harness and extend the wires to the car no big deal but does anybody know how much other ish i have to extend

 

Just the ones that don't reach to plug in, don't remember off hand which ones i had to.

 

ok thanks and if i dont wire up the knock sensor will i pop my motor (i always run 93 octane) also the evap system
