Please use punctuations next time.

What ECU are you using? What other mods do you have? Is your motor wired up correctly? Is your oil clean? You need a better description.

You would have gotten a CEL if your solenoid went out. As long as it runs smoothly, like it drives like your friend's B16, the sound of the crossover shouldn't matter I guess.

Maybe it's your exhaust. You have a silencer that does a damn good job at what it is supposed to do. IDK man, sounds like everything is fine with your engine.

Try swapping selonoids with your friend, then see if he has no VTEC and you do have VTEC.

Or at least try to get it to throw a CEL, CEL's are good b/c they'll tell you what's wrong (sometimes).

sell your car, lol
Try switching ecu's with your friends and then see the difference with your vtec maybe your ecu is retarded, or maybe you can get your friends ecu to through a cel

Do you and your friend have the same exhaust? As far as why yours might be quieter that could be it...you should still be able to feel it but just a thought...

another way you can tell if your vtec solenoid is not working, is when your not able rev all the way up 8k. Your motor is trying to rev up there but starts bogging at around 6500rpm

Theres a screen in your vtec solenoid. Sometimes it becomes clogged and prevents vtec from engaging correctly. Take off your vtec solenoid and you will see it.
