Weird noise coming from driver side wheel area? Need help!
I have this really weird noise on my driver side. When weight of the car shifts forward or backward, it sounds like something is coming out from a joint then back in... it's one knock sound. For example: when I brake and weight moves forward, I hear a knock.
I can't figure out what the hell it is and its driving me nuts. The sound is coming from the wheel hub area. I've looked underneath and don't see anything.. no leaks, no boots torn, nothing. I really want to fix it but I can't figure out what the $#@% it is. Now my steering wheel doesn't feel as stable as before and has also began shaking when braking, which I know could be warped rotors or whatever. Need some help.. or LOTS I should say.. thanks!

May be a bad axle, internal break, check it out and mske sure there is no free play if you try and turn it by hand.
So I've come to the conclusion that the problem is the upper ball joints (both sides). That's the first thing I will replace, btw I have a Skunk2 camber kit. Is there a specific S2 ball joint? Or can I use an OEM one?
did you check your bushings, you may have had one wear out on you causing an arm to shift. If ya have a friend around have them stand outside the car and watch each front wheel one at a time as you brake to see if there is anything shifting. Or just jack it up and start checking the bushings.

Well, I know for sure the upper ball joints are damaged. I checked the bushings and couldn't really see anything but I will try out what you suggested when we finally get a clear day here in sunny nw. So when I go about this, am I just looking for the wheel to "wobble or wiggle"?
No wiggle or wobble it just kinda jerks back a little bit, almost like a shake. If there is play in the bushing when the brake comes on, the arm will move back and then hit metal since the rubber is worn away, you don't hear it, you see it and feel it. When you come to a slow down do you feel the car shift over to the side a little bit?
Well, the ball joints will be the first to replace. Then I'll work from there on if the problem still exist.
I recently got into an accident and looks like things aren't going as planned. So I'll be working to repair my front end first then so on. Probably wont be here for a little while.
