Default Need Help On Headgasket

I have a 93 civic 197,000 miles on it. I just got a distrubutor from the junk yard to fix the no spark problem. Problem fixed, except they gave me a disturbutor from a 97-2000 civic ex and non of the bolt holes line up. The wiring inside the dist. are shot so I cant replace any internals. I have a head for a 98 civic ex laying around. The junk yard dist. fits perfect on it. I have til tomorrow morning to find out about my question. Here it is, If i swap the head with the one I have can I reuse the headgasket. Not planing on running long just til I build my b16 up. So I was thinking some JBweld on both sides of the headgasket in put it togeather. U think this will hold. Responses are great, peace I like the spell check

JB welding anything near moving parts is just disaster waiting to happen. You can't put a OBD-2 head on a OBD-1 motor directly, you need some modifications because the OBD-2 has more sensors.

what about just resusing it. Its never been taken apart before. The 2 pin/ 3 pin data link connectors were still taped to the wire hairiness. So no diag ever performed on this car.

lol, just trying to put it togeather to run so i can rip it alittle with the 4 disc brakes and suspension. Im thinking about just takeing 2 disturbers and making one good one, then just swaping the cam with the head i have. should work as im looking at at it.

I don't care if it hasn't been taken apart in 13 years or if it's rebuilt 2 times a month...you DO NOT reuse head gaskets....that's just asking for trouble....

Do you even know what the head gasket is there for...? It's kind of important.....

Next you're going to ask if you can drive a car without brake pads, because you're getting new ones soon...
