Default turbo k20's with stock internals

i was searching a little bit and it seems like the majority of people that have a turbo set up are running with stock internals. for the people that are running on stock internals, how much boost are you pushing and on what kit. to run around 7 or 8 psi on a cybernation kit, would it be sufficient to just get a good tune and not have to mess with the inside stuff? 250-280 whp is what im thinking max.

Which motor are you thinking of boosting? I wouldn't puch much over 10 lbs on a A3 motor, maybe nothing over 6-7 lbs on an A2 (I'm not really familiar with boosting an A2 so that is just a guess). Of course you are going to need bigger injectors (550-650 cc/min), ECU upgrade (K-Pro or EMS), Full Exhaust (3 in.), etc etc. Looks like you wanna stay under 300 whp ... I haven't really heard good things about the quality of the cybernation kit. The Greddy kit is pretty complete once you get the intercooler ... EManage is crap. You might be able to pull off your numbers with the Greddy kit. If you were looking for the best setup ... with some room to grow I would go with any kit by Full Race. I ordered their stage 1 kit ... should be able to hit around 300 whp with 10 psi easy. The quality of the kit is 2nd to none ...

Just all comes down to how much money you want to spend ... I suggest you spend a little more up front and get everything done right the first time vs. spending money here and there fixing crap all the time! Just my .02

you will need to wrap pretty much everything along your firewall ... or move it and reinstall in a different location. You will need some sort of shielding for your hood if you want your paint to stay nice ... the heat will destroy it. Get a heat shield for the turbine housing ... that will help. I would suggest rerouting your fuel line as well ... it runs pretty close to where your turbo will sit.

Full Race produces a turbo mani that places the turbo more beside the driver side of the motor vs behind it to give you more room. Check it out ...

It is uber tight back there ...

We have an 97 ek with a 03 K20a2 in it with a full-race stage 3 kit, 780cc injectors. We made good power on 7psi. Completely stock motor.

the reason im keeping the whp goal pretty modest is that i want a decently reliable daily as well. like i said before this car does everything from taking me to school to take me around the country so i would prefer something that wont blow up. oh and with my power goal will upgrading to a walbro 255 be neccessary doesnt seem like many people with the stage 1 kit upgraded the pump, just the injectors

Stock fuel pump is fine for anything around 10 psi and under ... just need to pop the injectors out

I have been running the Greddy kit for 15000+ miles...only problems that I had were because of e-manage. I had my ecu reflashed by hondata for the greddy kit and has been running great since. I have heard of a lot of people having problems with Cybernation's guardian but other than that it is supposed to be a good kit.
