Default A question about chirping gears !

I was chillin in the bronx last night at a dinner party so my cousin show's up that use to have a 01 type r i was like lets go for a ride. He jumps in to drive and we take off right away he redline's 1st, 2cd, 3rd chirping all of them but he was bouncing off the rev limiter. It was the best feeling ive had in the car so far ive takin it to redline but not like he did so the question is do i need to bounce off the rev limiter to chirp the lower gears ?

No you don't need to bounce off rev limiter, just shift at high revs. I can get 1st - 3rd pretty easy.

i dont recommend bouncing ur car off the rev limiter only to chirp those tires... i've bounced my car off the rev limiter once on accident and man it did not feel good at all... dramatic power loss (fuel cut off)... but anyways, just keep the revs high and paul walker that clutch/shifter and u'll hear a ErRRrRRRRrR screaching noise outside ur car... i believe it would be easier to chirp with shittier/bald tires

I understand what your saying but he is a damn good driver and it felt great no funny noises or anything and the car runs strong just sweet engine music. I wont be doing that anytime soon i always shift at 8,000 when it blinks etc ive only been driving manual since i bought this car last month i wont be doing **** like that lol.

^^ i know what u mean by engine music... it sounds so damn nice, makes u not even wanna let off the pedal... i have intake, and honestly i LOVE how it sounds bone stock... u know when u say u shift when it "blinks", does the si come with some sort of tachometer flash when u hit the red zone ? or somethin like that ? i've been hearing people say " shift when it blinks " but i thought it was just a saying

Hell yeah! There's a red light located next to the digital speedometer that blinks crazy fast when it's time to shift. It's similar to the size and brightness of the fuel light.
