Default Knock Sensor Issue (searched already)

Ok i got a jdm h22a after the car is all warmed up and i take it out
i floor it in 2nd and 3rd i can feel the car retard its timing round 4-5k rpms and then the knock sensor check engine light comes on
sometimes it will come on when im cruisin in 5th round 60 mph
but its always comes on evventually though
its a totally stock h22a besides i/h/e nothing else yet
i feel a power loss after the CEL is on and my vtec isnt as "potent"
im hoping to find a fix to this before i turbo the car i dont want it predetonating or nothing
o and its obd1 if that matters
anyone have this problem? i might be able to get my hands on a obd1 knock sensor but i dont want fork up the money if dont gotta

Get under the car and check it out. It's located directly above the oil pan. When mine threw the cel, it would throw it up at exactly the same time the engine gets to normal operating temperature (50% bar). Except in my case, and like most all other retarded timing cases, your low-end power is what eats it the most. My sensor was actually broken, so I rigged it back in place and put it back in. It's been fine since. Just remember to reset your ecu afterwards.

you didnt throw a code because a p28 cant read a knock sensor

ur gonna need to remove your oil filter to replace the sensor. And be sure not to break it upon installation. They are VERY fragile.
