will bad ECT throw code?

will a bad ECT throw a code? my ECT is cracked and some oil has seeped into the connector but it hasn't thrown a code yet, but vtec engages on and off

Usually it will throw a code, but sounds like it's not for you, if it's not then you should probly replace it.
