AGX/pro-kit install
i finally got around to installing springs and shocks on my '90 civic Si. i decided i wanted something a little more cushy than the set i had on my integra which were skunk2 coilovers (f500lb/r400lb linear) with koni yellows. i loved the setup. it was a great setup with a nice firm ride without unwanted oscilations.
I finally decided on AGX shocks with Eibachs pro-kit for my civic which use a 300lb linear rate spring on the front with ~100lb progressives on the back. i believed that these would provide a nice ride for a car that i drive to work on a daily basis yet provide just enough of a performance increase to be happy with.
was i ever wrong!
i do not know what the hell is up with these springs. the back end bounces like its on a damn trampoline!!! something my integra with 400lb linears never even hinted at. the ride on the civic just plain sucks. i cannot believe that a spring can be this bad. the front is actually just fine. it doesnt bounce and is always in control.
i am so disappointed with this purchase that with my next paycheck i'm going to order a set of ground control coilovers to solve this problem.

first question....what shocks are you running?
the problem i think your having is that your shocks are being over worked. if you think about it some, a bouncy ride is due to shocks that cannot compensate for an "active" spring. if you have a good shock, it should dampen all spring oscillations.
so i don't think you need new springs. it might be the shocks...

yes, i've been thinking about that. the shocks are KYB AGX, which from my searches around the net are plenty good for the ~100lb progressive rate springs in the back. the spring rates for the front are 300lb linears and the shocks handle them well. its just the back that i'm having probems with. tomorrow i will take everything apart and take another look to see if anything is screwed up.
i dunno but it sounds like 300f 100r is way too different...and to have one linear and the other progressive?...dunno about that too...throw some 250r linear coils on the back and i think it would solve your problem

the AGXs...aren't those the adjustable ones? what setting are they on?
i have the Eibach ProKit with Tokico HPs on my 91 sedan and i think they're waaaay too soft for me. they're cushy on nice roads and firm up a bit on rougher roads, but they don't bounce at all.
i would guess it's your struts like breaka said...

hmmm, i have agxs with the eibach pro-kit on my teg and i have no bouncing problems at all. are the agxs new?
if the axgs are new, try turning the setting to 2 or 3 and see what the results are.
good luck.

yeah i have AGX's and a pro-kit on my ride and its really nice. i would say its the settings on the shocks--try something less firm for a setting maybe
