Clutch Wont Grab
I have a 2000 civic si I and I have noticed that over the last few weeks the clutch engagement point has been slowing moving up on the pedal to the point were my clutch is extremely short it engages and disengages with in 2 in. of the push. Now when I let the clutch out all the way it is if it isnt even catching my rpm's go up but I accelerate very slow. Any ideas?
Is this a decent clutch, I have no clue what they normally run my guess is install from a shop will run about 2-3 hours I would like to keep the total price under $500.

2-3 hours? Hah hell no. More like a whole day if its ur first time. I found a kit for my B16 for 150 on ebay, Exedy OEM replacement kit. Unless you have something like a turbo or all motor (even then) you dont need a fancy clutch. Search B16 Exedy Clutch on ebay, thats where i found mine.
I am having a shop do the install for me, on average how long would you think it would take for a proffesional mechanic who has done it before to replace the clutch? Also alot of those kits come with flywheels is that neccisary. I plan on boosting me car this winter so is there a certain specification I should be looking for?
When are you planning on doing the turbo? If it isn't going to be for a while I would buy an OEM replacement, then when installing the turbo get a bad boy clutch.
I am planning on getting one within the next 3 months, will it have any problems if I were to put a better clutch in with out that extra horsepower, I saw some f1's rated at 350hp for around $170 I think thats what im going to go with. Also does anyone have an extimate on the labor?

how many miles are on it? clutches don't go bad in a couple weeks....unless you beat the **** out of it and slipping the expletive out of it
how's your fluid level? try bleeding it.
if you're getting a clutch anyway, what are your plans? no sense getting some crazy clutch if you're only doing bolt ons. get an exedy oe replacement, holds 10% over stock and won't **** you off in traffic (had an unsprung 4 puck in my old supra....yeah it grabbed like a **** but i ******* hated it!)

I have one of these and it holds excellent. Also if you PLAN on turbo later than drive your car the way it is. Don't buy a clutch now and then another one later. Waste of money.

Good guy, fast shipping, excellent service.
Also I wouldn't buy the clutch you are gonna use with a turbo unless you are looking at the turbo on your floor or in your garage already otherwise it may not happen.
I bought this clutch for my b-series and am a oil line away from my turbo install so I plan on using this clutch as well. Rated to 400 ft lbs of torque.
Since clutches are not rated by stages or horsepower then this clutch is good for a lot of power. Pedal feel is very close to stock and easy for a dd car.
I like mine. Good luck.
