1) A radio? Or, could you order a radio delete package?

2) A rear wiper?

Basically, was anything dealer installed, like a/c, radio, rear wiper, etc. Trying to find out if I can legally lose an option or two (weight savings) on my Si hatch.

 

you can take all those out it dont matter no one would find out

All Si's had rear wiper and radio,no way to get it without,only an DX or HF could u get radio delete

 

as someone who has been working at at dealership since 1989 please take this as an authoritive source.(as applies to us models) 89-91 si did NOT come with factroy radios, speakers, or even the antenna...these were all dealer installed.
air conditioning did NOT come from the factory....again dealer installed.
89-91 si 3drs (and DX) did come with rear wiper from factory.
for the record...no US civics came with factory radio until 93 ex civic coupe option and no US civics came with factory air conditioning until 93 civic 4dr ex
anything else you want to know about this timeframe??

So my 90 DX rex's A/C was prob. installed at a later date since it has it and runs like a charm?

 

no.....dealers installed this stuff....most dealers at this time would automatically put it on(who wants a new car without a radio and a/c right?) BUT technically the cars were unloaded off the truck without radio and a/c. the dealer i work for put radios and a/c on all the civics but if somebody didn't want these they would mark the car before it was prepped for the lot.

yup seekerONE is correct...

my 91 Si came w/o radio, antenna or AC. Had the dealer install the AC though.

Rear wiper was standard.

yshi - who thinks he still has the radio blocker plate

 

So, how does this comply with what Honda America would state the base options as for an 88-91 Si? Are all of these listed as options? I understand that these items could all be dealer installed, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they weren't standard equipment all of the time.
I have two radio blocker plates right now!!

us standards had optional passenger side mirror, cigarette lighter (i thought that to be weird), and radio. no rear wiper, no hatck light (open hatch lights up). no ac no ps, no antenna. dealers put antennas on in diff locations too. mine is like most with it above drivers side door. superhatchs gf's is on the hatch it self.
