Default How do i remove the CAM GEARS CAMSHAFTS! PIN KEEPS BREAKING

What do i need to stick through the cam holder into the camshaft THAT WONT BREAK TO GETT THE CAM GEARS OFF. I used punch pins and it worked til it bent, then another one that broke, and broke a punch of other things.

WHAT IS REALLY supposed to be used in that little hole, what did honda have in mind.

An impact wrench may help as well. I usually wrap a strap wrench around the cam gear to hold it.

get a big *** screwdriver

snap on makes a tool that keeps the cam gears in place.

Are the cams still in the head?

Get a wrench, or ratchet, along with a rubber mallet, and then just have someone hold the shaft, or hold it yourself,
Support the wrench enough that you can hit it, and go from there.

may not be the best way, but ive done it like this

stick the screw drive though the cam gear, inbetween the spokes, and take the VC off, and let it rest on the head, id put a towel or something down where it rest on the head.

ive always done this, and never hurt anything, but if it does look like something bad will happen, then stop.

the cam spoke will hit the screw driver, which it is laying on the head so it will stop the cam from turning...

If they Weren't in the head, I meant to say.

But I'm assuming the timing belt isn't on the gears anymore?
