Default Clarification

I have had an OEM JDM 4-1 header with a high flow cat and stock exhaust on my ITR for just over a month now. I'm also running a stock ECU

All of a sudden yesterday my car starts acting funny. It idels very low, sometimes when I stop at a set of lights the car dies, sometimes it doesn't, idle fluctuates up and down occasionally. The CEL also came on shortly after all this.

I took it to a local mechanic who specializes in Hondas, and he hooked up my ECU to his Snap On Diagnostic and it was reading that the car is running too rich.

He reset my ECU so I ddin't get a chance to read the CEL flashes.

When I started driving again the car started doing the same thing but my CEL hasn't come on yet.

I'm not too sure what the problem could be? I'm guessing that my primary 02 sensor might be shot.

He told me that the JDM header had killed my 02 sensor possibly, and that I should convert my Car to OBD1. I really don't want to do that.

Is his conclusion correct? will the JDM header cause this, or continue to if the 02 is replaced?

Anyone have similar issues? Tried searching but found nothing.

The header didnt cause it. Check the code yourself and tell us what it is...

What are the chances of an ECU going bad I wonder...

Back in the day, it was suggested I install a V-AFC along with my AEM intake and JDM 4-1, as those minor changes were enough to cause the stock maps to be off a bit and have the car run rich. Added some cam gears to the mix and dyno'd 177/129 or something like that.

I also have a Mugen Intake on my car, but that is all the mods that I have.

Anybody running my same set up:

Mugen Intake
JDM 4-1
High flow cat
Stock exhaust
stock ECU

Swap AEM for Mugen, and that's exactly what I was running early on when I added the V-AFC. I don't recall if I had the Toda cam gears with that or not.
