i have no 1st or 2nd gear anymore. only 3rd 4th and 5th. tranny grinded 2nd and third before it broke. any ideas what it is?? is it worth fixing.

Depends on a lot of things. Like which tranny it is

You'll need to buy a new shift fork to get 1st and 2nd gear back, plus whatever you need to fix the grinds, which could be an entire gear set for both 2nd and 3rd.

That's a whole lot of money. Plus, you'll likely need to replace a bearing or two one you're inside. If it's something cheap like a d-series tranny, just sell it as a "parts" transmission and buy a new one.
