if you're wanting to put HIDs on your car, I'd suggest having a retrofit done. I've been doing them for about 3 years now, and I should have some pics of my work floating around somewhere on this site. Defenitly have a retrofit done if you're planning on having HIDs on your car. If you do an Archived Search, you'll see why a retrofit is better than just having a PnP kit

This is like what we have been going through on pp.com.

Don't do plain HID kits there straight up blinding.

Talk to prelude1897 and get yourself to HID projector retro's.

The PnP HID's arent that bad! There is really no cut off line or whatever but the way people make it sound like its the most horrible thing is just stupid. I know the retros are better but for 800 dollars or whatever the price is...there are other things i would rather do.

they work normal...they dont really have a cut off line so it tends to cross into the other on coming traffic.

Hence, you should avoid them. If don't want to spend $800 on a retrofit, get HID foglamps. Cost is about $300-$400.

just search for techone hid install. i posted pics. thats what a pnp kit looks like.

for me, it was well worth it since i too can't seem to spend that much money on retros (although i've helped on one set, i know how to do it, just sourcing parts and cutting into jdm headlights......turned me away from the idea)

and i even lowered these, they don't blind oncoming traffic as some would believe. i had a friend drive in front of me and across. he said its nothing unusual. i mean trucks that are lifted blind me more than those civics running with pnp kits.

That's why I have a cheaper setup as well Here are links to videos that I got off from PP.com showing the glare of the HID output and how it doesn't put alot of light onto the road. There is a way to not blind people. Get some 8000k or higher bulbs and point your lights downward, but when doing this, you still won't put alot of light onto the road like you would want to and it will atract cops a bit more since your lights are more purple

prelude1897: You say you have a "cheaper setup" as well...What are we talkin'? 600? LoL..

With the PnP HID's and the Headlights pointed at a more downward direction IMO they are fine (RETROFITS ARE BETTER! But very expensive!) I have an extra JDM Blackhousing that I might DIY on...

same price, cause I don't carry extra headlights. The whole process usually takes about 2-3 days to complete and ship back out. For this price, everything is included(bulbs, ballast, projectors, labor)
