found ls block. what pistons, rods should i use? on a budget.
ok so i finally found a descent ls block off a buddy. it will be going in my em1. should i use the b16 pistons and rods if there ok, or something else? please help i'll be doing it on a budget of about 1500 bucks or so. i currently run sk2 stg.1 cams also, should i swap them out? looking for descent street poooower.

buy an ls crank, ls rods, re-use your p30s if the machinist can get em off your b16 rods without dicking them up.
the crank and rods shouldnt run you more than 100 bucks if you search around.
use the rest of your money for the machine work, a nice header, and a GE lsvtec kit. tuning, and a socketed ecu with which to tune

ok thanks, should i change out the cams too? or are they sufficiant? could i use ctr pistons, and still be streetable? thanks again for all your info.
get an engine management setup and tune it. also, i'd get ARP rod bolts for your LS rods just for peace of mind
as a matter of fact, jsut search username bambam and read his "how to build a reliable lsvtec thread" that should answer anything else you need to know. the priciples are simple, but the devil is in the details.
