2000 si ls/vtec need help with pistons/rods
I have a 2000 civic si that I am putting an ls block in. The block needs to be bored to 020 over and my question is what pistons and rods should I use. I have the b16 pistons and rods but since I need to be 020 over I'm not sure if I can use them. What pistons and rods should I get or preferebly just the pistons if I can use my ls or b16 rods. Any suggestions on this would help or any other info that I need to know thanks!

I dont think you can use the B16 piston or the rods.B16 rods are shorter than the ls rods and it may lower compression when putting b16 rods on a ls crank. Bc B16 and ls crankshafts have different rods lengths and rod strokes. You should bore the block to 81.5mm.Then buy whatever pistons and ls rods of your choice.

If I bore the block to 81.5mm what brand of pistons would be best and could I use the stock ls rods with the new pistons?

pr3=usdm spec
p30=jdm spec
you can utilize the stock LS rod and go with arp rod bolts or go with eagle or any other aftermarket rod of your choice, but look into weight spec of the rod also (b16 rods wont work in a B18 engine)...rs machine pistons have alot of different bore sizes to satisfy what you want to go with..

If I'm not going with the b16 spec pistons, what brand would you say is good for an ls vtec what would be ur top three choices?
