Right after a two day DE event, i check my oil (mobil 5w30 put in right before the DE) and it's still full. So i think, cool i didn't burn any oil even after hard driving.
One week later after normal street driving (no vtec even!)...i check my oil and **** i'm lower than half!! How could that happen?

I checked there is no oil leak anywhere...if there is leak, i should at least see some oil trace consider that much is lost (~2 quarts?)

Isn't oil burning an instantneous (sp?) process instead of drive hard and than lose oil slowly under normal driving condition?

Was the car's engine temperature the same when you took the two oil readings?

 

yeah, forgot to mention...both reading are taken when engine is cold overnight.

I'm starting to think as Bror Jace said in the oil thread, the base oil broke down and then evaporate slowly...maybe i'll try other oil than mobil 1 next time
