He's probably talking about the reflash. What are the last 5 digits of your VIN? Honda techs are idiots. They hire anybody that knows how to take off a tire.

Rofl thats why I was like wat are u talking about he like mumbled it so I couldnt' hear it. VIN is 45814. Does the reflash improve performance or something? Anything new? IT took over an hour just for a stupid oil change and filter so they didn't charge me anything.

If you are already leaking oil from under the hood, it could be bad. If not, chances are they just want to be safe.

Based on what I have read, the main seal between the engine and tranny did not get pressed in properly, so develope leaks. Just need to take it in and have Honda replace the seal.

The repair will take most of a day (that assumes they have the replacement seal in stack) otherwise it could take a few days. They need to pull the engine and tranny apart to replace the seal.

This is NOT a recall its just a service bulletin for us to use in case a customer has an oil leak coming from under the hood.

This is NOT a reflash it is an ECM software update. Very ignorant thing to say, maybe a few that work at dealerships around you apply, but dont associate the rest of us with them.

According to American Honda (AHM) records, your vehicle may be included in a RECALL CAMPAIGN. It needs an inspection and, if necessary, a repair. We realize that American Honda's information could be incorrect or their information might need to be updated.

David McDavid Honda of Irving would like to inspect your Honda Civic Si for a leak in engine oil at the rear main seal. For AHM to fully understand the cause of this occurrence, we would like to inspect the vehicle prior to you attempting a repair of any kind.

Please call us at 888-284-1515.

Honda has never launched a campaign for these symptoms as of yet. It is still just a bulletin (06-020 for fg1 and fa1 civics) that is in effect. I am in no way shooting you or this letter down that you have received, just letting you know what is available and active right now. This may be a future campaign but not as of right now.

Most recent newsletter from honda to us:

Background
American Honda (AHM) would like to inspect any 2006-2007 Accord (L4 ONLY), Element, Civic (VIN begins with 1HG or 2HG) or Civic Si that is leaking engine oil at the rear main seal.

For AHM to fully understand the cause of this occurrence, we would like to inspect the vehicle prior to you attempting a repair of any kind.

If you have or know of such a vehicle, please refer to Action Required below.

Hmm I see does it cost money for them to check? Also they should've replaced my filter with the oil change but I just opened it and took the filter out and it was just as dirty as it was before. I don't think they replaced my filter. Even though it was free because they made me wait over an hour and half, what about my filter!

Owner of 06 civic EX with R-18 engine (36,000 Miles). I had oil leak (trickle) that appeared to be comming from rear main seal area.

Honda inspected and found that, speed sensor seal on transmission was defective and replaced it.

Don't worry just enjoy the ride until it leaks or take it to dealer for inspection.
