Exedy hyper single stage 3 vs. HTG package
Any opinions?
Some say EXEDY is crap, but our OEM clutch is made by them.
The HTG package (act pp, comptech flywheel, oem disc, oem tob) is a great setup.
What do you guys feel would be better for the street? Better in quality/ longevity?

The hyper single is way too much for a daily driven car in my book, unless you like the clutch pedal to be like an on/off switch. I think on a daily driven, near stock power level car the HTG package would be just fine and would probably last longer than the hyper single, as those race clutches will wear out faster if you try to slip them like a stock clutch. How much do you value ease of operation on your DD?
why a single stage 3???.... there is no use for that with your current setup....
HTG is the package to get if you want streetability for daily driving.... exeddy clutches are on/off style, and a pain in the *** for daily trafic...

Right now, In my room, I'm sitting on an ACT Stage II Street disc with an exedy center plate, a HD Clutch Specialties Pressure Plate and a 9lb Forged Flywheel. Something my clutch guy/dealer set me up with.
My friend, who has the same exact set up just got his installed today. From what he told me, he likes it alot. The pedal feels just like stock, well maybe a tad stiffer, but the engagement is awesome. I'll let you know also, im installing mine this week

No I have not. Would you have a link? I looked into some JDM set ups, but not enough people have them to voice an opinion. I want something that works well.

The ATS Set Ups are awesome in the 240 crowd. My buddy with an Ap1 is running the ATS Clutch and flywheel set up and loves it tooo. But i don't think one testimony will doo you good though.
Also, ATS is now owned by Across USA and is called Carbonetic.

Listen to him... I should know, I have the Exedy hyper. Great for the track, rough ride for the street on a get go.

are you sure you have the exedy plate with the act setup? i had a hyper single on my S and now i have the exedy hyper carbon single. a guy that used to work for daiken clutch (exedy) told me you cannot mix match exedy's new clutches with different brands. so i had to by the full setup.
frank, the exedy is amazing for f/i but if your not going to do that, just get the HTG setup

IM pretty positive. Im actually looking at it again, one more time. lol
It has the ACT stage II street disc, with an Exedy center/drive plate in the middle. I sold the exact set up to my friend and i drove his car. LOVE IT. Pedal feels very stockish but engagement is awesome.

You'll have to modify the assembly from a push to pull or was it the other way around. I was looking into this setup but when my project went into limbo, I didn't follow up. The clutch/fly wheel assembly are incredibly light and hold up to 400lb/ft of torque last time I checked. It's an excellant setup for both na and fi.
