I have a 99 prelude non-sh while driving sometimes the tach starts jumping and i get what seems like a missfire, bogging and backfires.


while driving mainly on long trips the car shuts off while driving and the tach goes all the way down, cant give it gas, etc... and the car just turns back on while im rolling without me tring to crank it or nething.

ive searched and tried abunch of things... i have new plugs, wires, rotor button, cap, and ignition control module...

i heard the ignition switch could cause this problem and there was a recall on it. So i checked Alldata and it said if the recall was performed to punch a mark above the 8th vin character on the engine bay vin mine doesnt have that. is there a good way to test the switch?

 

Call and ask the dealer if it's been done for your vin.

 

hasnt been done so i bought and installed the new ignition switch (electrical part) myself and still no fix.


its 99 h22a4 aem intake, header, gutted cat (got cloged up) full exhualst... not much else done to it
