I haven't been on HT in forever, but I need help with an issue that Im not sure where to start on.

I have a 99 base model with 120k on it, and its all stock except for an intake. I bought it 5 years ago with roughly 55k on it, and I'm the second owner. Recently it has started dying while I am driving, and it must be something electrical. I can be going at any speed and the car will randomly shut off, and the key icon on the dash will blink. I have to come to a complete stop and wait for roughly a minute before I have any hope of it restarting. It's happening so frequently that I can't drive the Lude. Any ideas? Not sure if this is something that is known to happen, or if my car is just being special.

Have you had the ignition switch relay recall done yet?

 

Didn't even think to check for recalls - thanks. Just looked online and that has not been done to my car yet, and it does qualify. I'll schedule an appointment now. Preciate the help!
