Ignition switch recall on 99 civic?
I'm away in Philadelphia and my brother took my car in for an oil change and on his invoice it said
"There is an outstanding recall notice concerning the ignition switch, customer will receive a notice in the mail. Please call us when you receive the letter"
Anyone know anything about this?

I've had my car taken care of already under this warranty. My car would stall and die while I was driving. I checked every thing from the fuel pump to injectors - everything. I got so pissed I called Honda of America - they had me take in my car and they fixed it under this warranty. They said my ignition switch was causing the problem. They had to swap in a new one. Took their asses 4 days to fix it.

wow.. Is it a common problem? I haven't had any such issues.. Think I should have the repair done anyways..
I mean.. "If it ain't broke , dont' fix it" right?

It will ask for your VIN number and it will inform you if your car is in this recall. If your warranty is over they still need to replace it because it's a recall. I might be mistaken about that though..
