Default swap

So i posted a thread earlier this week about my car tapping. in the end the motor is done. Im lookin for a b16 with auto trans. i have found websites with motors. but im confused with how the years work, my car is a 98 dx. does the motor have to be from a 96-00 civic? i see alot that says 92-95. how does that work? thanks

your car is OBD2, and the 92-95 motors are OBD1, so you will have to convert. You an still use either of the motors, but you may have to convert.

And you dont want an Auto. Just dont do it. If you are disabled and have to have one, thats fine, but if not, get a 5 speed.

there are conversion harnesses available through some of the sponsers on this website. Your car is OBD2, which is the program it uses to diagnose problems. It is the newer, easier, more complete program to use to figure out what is wrong with your car. The motors you mentioned are OBD1, and are a different program, older, not used anymore, and are not compatable with your OBD2 car, unless you convert your car to OBD1. If you have to SMOG your car, you shouldnt do this.
