did the H23 have more torque than an H22?? just thought the torque level was about the same??? if so, no point right?

Their factory torque levels are similiar. All thing considered equal if you were to boost both motors the extra displacement in the h23 would shine through though.

there is a very good point to doing a 2.3L DOHC VTEC engine...

2.3 SI bottom end
2.2 VTEC head
Prelude Type S Pistons.
Everything else stock.
Stock headers, stock intake, stock exhaust
stock cam gears, stock fuel system
In other words, totally stock except S pistons.

estimating 15% drivetrain loss that puts us at...

219 hp
178 lb-ft

is that a good thing or bad?

meaning that u mean a 15% loss, but u written 219..thats obviously, better then the H22 itself??

normally there's more than a 15% drivetrain loss... a safe bet is 17% IMO.

yes, so figuring 15% is a conservative estimate

and yes, it obviously makes more power than a stock H22

when you put a car on a dyno, it puts out less power to the wheels than the "crank" hp

this difference is called drivetrain loss...a very low drivetrain loss is 15% for a manual transmission car...which is what I use to figure out the crank hp from a dyno chart. But like said 17 or 18 is more normal, which puts the crank hp even higher than what I stated

01 GSR , what would you estimate the drivetrain loss on an automatic? Just curious.

Is this from Importreview? Who the hell would build a motor like that and choke it with stock I/H/E. I'd think aftermarket I/H/E should get a 2.3 VTEC with Type S pistons close to 200 WHP.
